VISA GUIDELINES

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR AFSUMB MEMBER COUNTRIES

Pursuant to Resolution No. 44/NQ-CP dated 07 March 2025 issued by the Government of Viet Nam on visa exemption for certain countries, as well as bilateral agreements between Viet Nam and ASEAN member countries, we hereby inform all delegates from the 18 member countries of the Asian Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (AFSUMB) of the current visa and entry policies as follows:

I. COUNTRIES ELIGIBLE FOR VISA EXEMPTION

Delegates holding passports of the following countries are eligible for visa-free entry into Viet Nam, provided that their stay does not exceed the maximum allowed duration under current regulations:

  • Japan (JSUM): up to 45 days
  • Republic of Korea (KSUM): up to 45 days
  • Singapore (MUSS): up to 30 days
  • Malaysia (MSUM): up to 30 days
  • Indonesia (ISUM): up to 30 days
  • Thailand (MUST): up to 30 days
  • Mongolia (MSDU): up to 30 days
  • Philippines (PSUCMI): up to 21 days

📌 Note: Passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. For longer stays or multiple entries, delegates are strongly advised to apply for an E-visa to ensure compliance with Vietnamese immigration regulations.

II. COUNTRIES REQUIRED TO OBTAIN AN E-VISA

Delegates holding passports from the following countries are required to obtain an electronic visa (E-visa) prior to entry into Viet Nam:

  • India (IFUMB)
  • Nepal (USN)
  • Pakistan (USP)
  • Oman (OSUM)
  • China (CMA/CSUM)
  • Hong Kong (HKSUM)
  • Taiwan (CTSUM)
  • Pacific Island nations (PISUM)
  • Iraq

📌 Note: If a visa is required, participants are kindly requested to arrange their own visa application and cover all associated fees.

III. REQUIREMENTS ON TESTING, QUARANTINE & HEALTH DECLARATIONS

At present, no COVID-19 testing, quarantine, or health declaration is required for travelers entering Viet Nam.

IV. ELECTRONIC VISA (E-VISA)

The electronic visa (E-visa) is issued by the Viet Nam Immigration Department through its official online system.

  • Valid for a maximum of 90 days
  • Applicable for single or multiple entries
  • Available to citizens of all countries and territories

The E-visa application fee must be paid online in accordance with the regulations of the Viet Nam Immigration Department:

  • Single entry: 25 USD
  • Multiple entries: 50 USD

📌 Note: All fees must be paid online and non-refundable, even if the application is rejected.

 Conditions for E-visa Eligibility:

Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:

  • Currently residing outside Viet Nam at the time of application
  • Hold a valid passport (with at least 6 months’ validity upon entry)
  • Not subject to entry suspension under Article 21 of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Viet Nam
  • Must declare sufficiently, accurately and honestly all true information in English in evisa.gov.vn.

📌 Important:

E-Visa application will be denied if there is any dishonest information in the application found by Viet Nam Immigration Authority.

V. GUIDELINES FOR INVITED SPEAKERS ATTENDING THE CONFERENCE
