Speakers are required to submit their abstracts directly on the official congress website: https://afsumb2026.org.
Abstracts must be submitted in English using the official template provided by the Organizing Committee.
Abstract Content: Scientific Research or Case report, and choose to present in one of two formats: Oral presentation or Poster presentation.
Applicants are allowed to submit an unlimited number of abstracts.
Once the abstract has been accepted, the speaker must pay the registration fee to confirm attendance at the congress. This fee (and grant) will be refunded in cash at the Congress.
Log in to your account on the website and pay the registration fee as a regular delegate (within 5 days after receiving the notification email from the organizing committee).
Submit your portrait photo, CV, passport number, and an image of your passport information page to the Organizing Committee via email: afsumb2026@gmail.com

Each presenting author will receive only one grant, regardless of the number of abstracts accepted.
The registration fee will be reimbursed in cash to the presenters, along with the grant.
Note: Travel and Accommodation expenses are NOT covered by the organizers, except for presenters in the AFSUMB Young Investigator Session.

The AFSUMB Young Investigator’s Award is presented to authors of outstanding original research papers delivered at the 17th AFSUMB Congress in Vietnam held on March 12-14, 2026.
Please nominate one applicant from each affiliated society of AFSUMB (list of 17 societies here)
Each society must submit the following application form, abstract of the presentation (Abstract Form for YIA here), and a passport copy to the AFSUMB Secretary (afsumb-sec@wakayama-med.ac.jp) by November 3rd, 2025. (International applicants are kindly requested to contact the leadership of your respective affiliated societies for information regarding submission deadlines and other relevant details.)
Rules for AFSUMB Young Investigator’s Award:
Six authors will be awarded: one Grand Prize, two Gold Prizes, and three Honorable Mention Awards.
AFSUMB will support the six awardees with reimbursement of economy-class travel expenses, up to USD 1,000 upon submission of receipts. VSUM will provide complimentary registration and accommodation, and a Grant of USD 150 for the candidates.
Authors awarded 1 Grand Prize and 2 Gold Prizes receive USD 1,000 and USD 500, respectively.
Each society may nominate one applicant.
Nominations must be officially submitted by the society.
Applicants must be under 40 years of age as of the opening date of the Congress (12.03.2026) or within five years of completing residency.
Applicants must be active, dues-paid members of their respective societies and must not have previously received the Young Investigator’s Award.
The Secretary, President, and Treasurer of AFSUMB will select six awardees from the applicants.
The Secretary will announce the results and send invitation letters to the selected awardees no later than three months before the Congress (by 12th December 2025)
One Grand Prize and two Gold Prizes will be selected based on a peer review of the scientific content of their presentations during the Young Investigator’s Award (YIA) Session at the AFSUMB Congress.
The awardees must present their papers in person at the YIA Session to be eligible for travel support and prizes
Substitutions, online, or video presentations are not permitted.
